Tracy Dunstan is without a doubt the worst manager I have ever had. We always maintained a cordial and professional relationship, but the department definitely suffered from her lack of leadership and competence. She never actually knew what she was doing. Her lack of personal self confidence carried over into her professional life. Could not run a meeting. Never communicated important information to staff. Never had opinions about anything, original thoughts, or basic problem solving skills. Your basic "yes" man. She never stood up for her employees or herself, and let herself get railroaded into doing jobs that had nothing to do with her responsibilities. She had no vision, no focus, no goals. Obviously, could never have been anything like a mentor. Cared nothing about the professional goals of her staff or their development, and not because she didn't have compassion, she was oblivious. Would rather have had a competent boss with bad attitude than an incompetent one with no spine.
