I don't understand comments from the previous poster. I can only suspect they come from her. In no way is Tracy a bad person. She is just a bad boss. She lacks knowledge, leadership, management and fundamental ability to lead anything. A self-conscience introvert with a speech impediment is never going to be strong leader with voice that carries weight. People need to stop giving her a pass because they feel bad about her appearance or her lisp.

Normally I don't leave reviews, but I felt compelled to leave one given the information on this website. What I can say for sure about Tracy is that she does not compromise her integrity or authenticity. This is obvious in the way she conducts herself and deals with all the situations that arise at the library, from inter-personal conflict to customer dissatisfaction. She is introverted as a person, which influences her communication, but she is excellent in one-on-ones. I feel that she really listens to me and empathies with me. There is always room to improve in terms of employee empowerment and development. I feel that is mostly the nature of this library system - there isn't always development opportunities available. Further, I understand that my professional development is not the responsibility of my manager. It is my responsibility. When I bring my ideas for growth or my concerns about stagnation to Tracy in our 1:1s, she either helps me figure out the steps I need to take to achieve those goals or she helps provide another perspective on the issues I am facing. I have not yet had a perfect manager, but I'm happy to have reported to Tracy. My recommendation for future employees reporting to her are to take the time to ask for 1:1s, come prepared with your own ideas for growth and your own thoughts on solutions to your problems, and she will help clear the way!

Tracy Dunstan is a great leader in her field. She is a librarian who wins awards and gets recognitions. She builds her staff up and supports them in their professional endeavors. I could not have asked for a better supervisor.
