This guy is the worst. Just turn around and run. Ever heard of Googles study for high performing teams and that "psychological safety" is one of the major success factors? Mario Münnich leads by the total opposite. I coined the term "psychological warfare" within our team to describe his leadership style. He does everything in his power to appear "cool", "empowering" and "supportive" if his bosses, other department heads or the workers council is near.. but as soon as he is alone with his team shit hits the fan. Everybody is afraid, like real fear. He screams at people on a regular basis, singles them out in all hands meetings, tells them how stupid they are. I know at least 5 of my former colleagues who at least cried 2-3 times per week because of him. The company seems to ignore it as he seems to be well liked within our department heads, as they lovely call him "Super Mario". Well, rather "Super Jerk". I think I've never heard him say "thank you" or "well done" during the entire time. We busted our asses of to get things going and I respect that everyone has to perform and give their best, but if you get a punch in the face each and every time for your work (figuratively not literally).. you just don't want to work anymore. At least he doesn't get physical.. but he is a master in the psychological torture. I think he had great mentors at Volkswagen. The best day in my recent life was when I finally could switch departments and didn't have to work for him anymore.
