I would strongly warn against working under Ms. Keene. I have never in my life felt so demeaned and belittled by a supervisor. Ms. Keen is incredibly passive aggressive and uses her position of power to threaten and scare those under her. I constantly needed to deescalate conversations with her and defend every idea and project I worked on. Coworkers constantly defend her by saying "don't worry that's just the way she is" and that is the status quo in the office. Ms. Keene picks on those who she does not feel fit into the office culture or do not meet her standards and continuously bully's them. Ms. Keen assigns projects in a very vague compacity and will micromanage until the task is completed. She has a great opportunity to help support staff in a way that will be beneficial to the image of DHS OCFO but she does not. That being said, I was too afraid of retaliation to properly discuss this in my exit interview. If you currently work under Ms. Keen, coming to and being at work does not need to be difficult. There are other supervisors that are much more capable of supporting employee development, and you deserve that.

Judith Keene singles out other employees within the organization. She uses her position within the workplace to belittle her colleagues. I am currently in a position where I feel frightened to come to work. 50% of my job is defending myself. I am scared to show initiative, because of how Judith will react. She makes it a point to express her dislike of me as a person, I can usually accept that, but it makes my job more difficult. She will frequently place her colleagues in no-win situations to try to prove that they don't belong. When she is part of the review for assignments she will constantly change the finish line to harm your reputation. There are always difficult people within the workplace, but never have I felt isolated in a work environment like I have working under her. I don't recommend working with or under her. The other people in the office are great though.
