Jim is a narcissist that will stop at nothing to maintain his sense of identity. So like all narcissists he is charming at first, craves being the centre of attention, and will turn to gaslighting and manipulation when things do not go his way. He offers support at the start and then strips it away after a year of employment which, as a psychologist, is concerning. He wears too many hats as an employer, supervisor, manager, and owner that makes him inconsistent in his communication as he tends to flip from one role to another which can be confusing. When offering supervision he often seemed disinterested, would schedule sessions for when he was driving in his car, sometimes while his family members were in the car with him, which compromised client confidentiality and privacy. When supervision questions were more medically inclined, but he seemed to lack insight or true expertise when it came to support with psychological skills. He was often very inappropriate and familiar with staff, especially young attractive females, which made the workplace uncomfortable and often shared biased discriminatory opinions, especially regarding women and cultural backgrounds different from his own. He often resorts to humiliation tactics of staff members that he passes off as humour. There are also no business structures in place so there is no sense of equality when it comes to pay rates or pay increases. Although the business offers an interesting niche experience, working with this individual is not worth the disappointment or trauma.
