She did nothing to help foster my career when I was there. She hid in her office most of the time. Occasionally I would see her on the back road. Any other time she was out of her office she was having secret meetings with one particular keeper. The communication was poor. The work assignments did not make sense.

I can only speak for myself here and not on others experiences. I've certainly had worse bosses and she was nice whenever she talked to me. I think my problem was that there wasn't a lot of involvement. I wish she had been more involved in things such as checking that keepers were doing their jobs. I felt like I shouldered the responsibility of incidents that should have been caught very early on by people in positions above me. I left not because an incident happened, but because I saw no system in place to prevent future incidents. I hope they have improved since I left.

I'm giving her a D in employee development and communication because she did develop Jill and handed her the Keeper 2 position. Good for you Jill! How many of these reviews did you write? Jenny needs to improve in communicating with all of her staff and not just one person. She fails to check in with each of her team members. You need to be the one to communicate to her because she will not check in with you. Keepers have asked for monthly check-ins and string walk-throughs and were denied that request. It is infuriating having a boss who has no time for her staff. She'll make time to communicate with Jill though. "Projects Keeper". Give me a break! Any other place would have had Jill transferred to maintenance or fired her if all she wanted to do was play with tools and get things done in an untimely manner. This zoo is all about seniority, about who has been there the longest. It's never about who has the most experience or who is the best at their job.
