Woah, Nelly! I'll add my two-cents after stumbling on this site. Emily was my direct manager for just under a year. It was not a positive experience. I can't state specific details due to an NDA related to a settlement, but let's just hypothetically say I don't need to work for almost a half a decade without any change in lifestyle.

Emily's "leadership skills" are sorely lacking. I'm not sure how she achieved the position she is in, but as a Sr. Director, she is definitely struggling to produce. Multiple times I've had to bail her out of work situations or take on additional efforts to cover her incompetence. All the while not being recognized as a significant contributor towards team goals, only to have the accolades go to her. Definitely a "boss" to stay away from.

Emily doesn't meet the definition of a "leader." She does not inspire others to achieve greatness. In fact, she actively suppresses it. Early 2024, the company goes through reviews. I met and exceeded all my target performance measurements. When I sat down with her to review, I was told "I needed to do more." When I showed that my numbers were in-line and exceeded expectations, I asked "which measurements and by how much?" Her response was "we don't have hard and fast numbers to meet. You just needed to do more." (Fun fact: the company DOES have these...they're baked into the performance measurement system.) Emily has no understanding on how to lead people, nor does she inspire confidence in those she does attempt to manage. When it comes time for bonuses, she screws you out of your rightful bonus with ridiculous explanations like "You needed to do more." It's no wonder she was fired from her position at SalesForce before joining ServiceNow.
