He was the best boss for the first ten months I worked for him- respected his employees, encouraged them to seek out opportunities and promotions within the company, very helpful, would advocate for employees he felt were wronged by the company, etc. However, the final 2-3 months I worked for him he lost all of those positive qualities. He learned he was transferring to a different store and let our store rot. He fired several of our best employees when he could’ve simply disciplined them. It left us understaffed and struggling for months. He made several permanent and lasting decisions before leaving that really screwed over his former team. During this time he lied about several employees behind their backs instead of being upfront and addressing his issues with them person-to-person. He betrayed his team on the way out the door and no one trusts him now. I was one of the few that stood up for him until the very end, and he still threw me under the bus too. It’s so unfortunate that he changed so much, as he was an excellent boss for the longest time.
