I've worked for Andrew for over 10+ years, originally being transferred under him when the previous manager went on leave. Over the course of my career, Andrew has been there to help guide and mentor me, helping me to grow my career and pathways within BMO. He recognized potential I didn't realize I had and helped to empower me, enabling me to flourish and grow. At the same time, he recognized my weaknesses, areas for improvement and has encouraged me to work on them, helping bring to light perspectives I wasn't aware of. Over the years, the team led by Andrew faced many difficult situations and challenges. Andrew demonstrated his leadership by helping us to stay motivated, keeping our cool when tensions where high, while at the same time leading us to overcome all sorts of issues from tight deadlines, major application upgrades to overnight production support outages/issues. He has a unique ability to see the big picture and ask the right questions, ensuring that all angles and perspectives have been covered; this minimized risk and helped the team focus on the bigger issues at hand. Communication and delivery are some of his main strengths which has enabled him to be successful, helping him to gain the trust of his stakeholders, business partners and most importantly his own team through his actions, not just words. While we did not always agree or see eye to eye on every issue, he would take the time to help me understand his perspective - which I can say was appreciated. Over the years I've now been able to understand how he has a strategic vision, how small decisions made today can and will impact tomorrow. The results speak for themselves, from various upgrades, mergers and projects, Andrew's leadership has led to more successful implementations and deliveries then I can list. He has been consistent in his leadership and demonstrated integrity over the years I've worked with him. Employee turnover has been the lowest amongst other teams and groups over the last decade, even as he took on more responsibilities, inheriting multiple teams. I can confidentially say that I would not be where I am today without Andrew's direction, strong leadership and vision. His work ethic is unparalleled and he strives for nothing but perfection, setting a high bar first and formally for himself and then empowering those around him to also achieve it. He is a senior leader, a selfless leader, and I can say truly say that I am proud of the work we've accomplished to date and will accomplish in the future.

Andrew is a strong F in integrity. When I worked for him we were expected to do 7am-5pm M-F for 50+ hrs a week and then very often weekend and on call support. I was tracking this on my time card as a salary employee. He quickly told me not to record anything over 40 hours weekly; just to record my 8hrs a day M-F. I didn't think much of it until quite a few years later that this is an illegal practice, asking me to falsify time records. BMO has definitely exercised time and wage theft on me and didn't compensate me accordingly even if it was comp time off for my extra hours. Andrew was complicit and as long as chairs were filled and support goals were met then it really didn't matter about the employee.
