Mr. Parra lacks much emotional intelligence and creates a stressful work environment, employees have sighted anxiety and mental health complications outside of work while working under him. You can clearly tell the divide in Adrian's bias towards clients and internal hires that were more personal to him or on his 'level' whether it was their socio-economic or professional background. If you were not on his level, he was often seen texting on his phone or disinterested in what you were presenting to him despite working late to try to meet his impossible standards/last minute deadlines. If he liked you or you were an external facing client, he was all smiles and acknowledgement. If you made even the slightest of human error, you were often humiliated in front of others whether in front of your teammates or over chat groups. Often needed 'control' over everything, and when he first began, mentioned jokingly that he was a bit 'neurotic', we should have taken this as a warning instead. He often spent hours giving feedback down to the slightest tiniest detail, then blamed deadlines being backed up by anyone else but him at not being able to keep up with his late night requests. He also doesn't care if you were sick that day or something happened at home, if the work isn't done, your career is essentially done. When he abruptly cut team members off our team he couldn't have cared less or often brushed things off as a sarcastic joke/laughing at them. Did I stress that Mr. Parra is a workaholic?? He expects his employees to put in additional late hours into the morning and on weekends constantly to meet his unrealistic standards. Often conveniently 'forgets' feedback to a point where others have to record his meetings to hold him accountable, to which he will reply with 'its better to write notes than record.' Strange. Gossips about employees, what they do on their days off with other employees during 1-on-1s not pertaining to said employee to start internal divides. Fosters a difficult and stressful work environment where he expects high quality work in under a few days, constantly spouting hostile disappointment at a small team that is already exhausted with 15 other deadlines overlapping at once, not once questioning why we aren't unprepared due to lack of sleep from work and constantly scrambling under stressful deadlines. He's often found saying 'I could do this so quickly why is it taking so long.' Again, there's no humanity behind his work ethics if he sees you as less than him. Lacks interpersonal skills and everything is strictly 'business' to him, he will not have any sympathy for you and sends you to HR instead of talking to you as a leader for issues that could be easily cleared through conversation, but he's too focused on protecting his own facade. I was foolish to give him the benefit of the doubt as the department was going through stressful times but all I can say is, I'm happy karma exists. ✨

Adrian Parra's tenure as CMO at Humanscale left much to be desired, particularly in terms of leadership and integrity. His management style was riddled with issues that significantly affected team morale, productivity, and the company's overall trajectory. One of the most glaring problems was his inability to establish trust among his peers and subordinates. Adrian frequently made promises that were either half-hearted or completely unfulfilled, leading to widespread frustration within the organization. Additionally, his leadership approach was erratic at best. Rather than fostering an environment of collaboration, he tended to rule with a top-down, authoritarian style, often disregarding valuable input from his team members. The lack of clear, consistent communication was another area where Adrian's leadership fell short. Team goals were often unclear, and shifting priorities made it impossible to execute long-term strategies effectively. His leadership left the marketing department disjointed and struggling to meet targets.

Gossiped about staff with other members of the department. Took nearly 1.5 years from hiring for him to structure the team. Too little, too late. Caused a tremendous amount of burnout and anxiety among team members. Stay away from Humanscale as well. They have known about employee morale issues and problems with senior leaders and did absolutely nothing to address the problem. If you are an employee reporting a problem with leadership, you become the problem.
